Martin Klimas is a German photographer who has developed a way to capture the actual sonic vibrations of such songs as Miles Davis's Bitche's Brew and others. Klimas has an exhibit at the Foley Gallery in NYC now, but you can view this amazing photography AND how it is done on you tube :
